On-line Tutoring - Can students follow it?
The best thing I did as a maths tutor at the start of Lockdown was buy a Lenova Laptop with a write-on screen. I then used "Onenote" with the maths paper background and it was just like writing in their exercise book.
One parent wrote "Thank you for your continued maths support for the girls during the Lockdown, it’s been fantastic. The girls have said your sessions are the same as if they were with you in person which is great feedback."
The image below shows an example from another student of the excellent maths work done that can be done online. This was done by a Year 8 boy during an online session in his exercise book. This topic isn’t usually taught at this level but as long as student understands plotting coordinates they can easily use maths thinking to find midpoints and diagonal lengths using Pythagoras’s Theorem. Beautiful maths!.
